During our trip, we had the opportunity to visit witness some of the agriculture initiatives that have been happening in Cuba. From urban farming to agroecology, we learned how the Cuban government is trying reduce food imports, and do it in a sustainable way. In the following video, Fernando Funes Monzote –a scholar-turned-farmer– talks about his own experience starting a farm and the challenges of implementing agroecology.
